Student Exchange

Programme Structure

The first year of the Programme is devoted to basic courses in all management and management-related disciplines, while the second year offers the opportunity of gaining breadth and depth in at least two major areas.

Courses may vary in terms of the volume of content from 1.5 to 3 credits. The maximum load of courses which may be taken in terms is restricted to 18 credits for Terms IV and V and 15 credits for Term VI. Instruction and evaluation usually consist of several components such as classroom lectures, assignments, projects, term papers, case studies, group discussions and role plays.

The students from partner institutions in the international exchanges can be admitted to any of the three Terms in the second year, i.e., Terms IV, V or VI of the two-year programme. They should have completed the first half (corresponding to the first year of a two-year MBA Programme) of a recognized Post-Graduate Programme in Management at their home institution (i.e., at the international partner institution), and should hold at least a Bachelors' degree in any field of study. At the time of application through our web portal, the choice of elective courses should also be indicated.

For further information related to tentative list of courses offered, accommodation expenses, academic calendar, credit conversion etc. please refer to the Fact sheet and the Brochure provided above.

Visa Formalities

Exchange students should complete their visa formalities on their own. All international students will need a visa to study in India, and an ordinary tourist visa will not be sufficient. Please contact the Indian Embassy in the home country for further details after the formal exchange programme application has been sent to IIM Kozhikode.

In case of any particular stamp/ seal on visa, the students are advised to bring the notice of the same to IIMK International Relations Office. It will enable the IR Office to complete necessary formalities with the local authorities.
