Dr. Anandakuttan B Unnithan after his graduation in production cum plant engineering did his MBA and PhD from Cochin University of Science and Technology. His doctoral dissertation was in the area of consumer behavior. He worked for a few years in the industry and then chose teaching for the ‘intellectual stimulation’ it provides. He taught at Rajagiri School of Management, Kochi and School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology prior to joining IIMK. He has also served as the Director of SNGIST- a post graduate college in Kerala.

His chosen areas of specialization are marketing research and applications of behavioural sciences in marketing. He is an open source and free software enthusiast.

Dr. Anandakuttan is married to Geethadevi and is blessed with two little girls Niranjana and Nirupama.
