EPGP is offered as a two year nonresidential executive programme for working executives aspiring for leadership level positions in their organizations. The programme is offered on a face-to-face mode at its classrooms in Kochi campus. The learning experience in this programme is also enriched through its diverse participant profile in terms of industry and functional experiences. The peer interactions enables richer in-class and out of class experiences. The programme design, class timings and course structure are made keeping in mind the personal, professional and career progression challenges faced by such professionals. The programme is designed and delivered in such a manner that it sharpens managerial skills, deepens industry insights, and develops richer perspectives. The program follows a pedagogy that blends experiential and participative learning modes like simulations, business case studies and project work along with traditional lecture modes. Case study forms a major part of the curriculum, helping the participants to analyze real life experiences in the class room and helps them grapple with exactly the same kind of situations, decisions and dilemmas managers confront during their daily work routines. The academic performance of a participant in each course is assessed through a mix of components such as Assignments, Quizzes, Class Participation, Project Work, End-Term Examination and any other component as suitably decided by the Instructor. The participants will have access to IIMK Library at Kochi as well as e-library in Kozhikode. They are enrolled to a Learning Management Portal to facilitate off the class learning. The class room lectures may also be supplemented by sessions from senior industry professionals.
a) A Bachelor's Degree** or its equivalent in any discipline with Aggregate 50% mark or equivalent CGPA. Those with CA/ICWAI/CS are also eligible to apply. And;
b) 3 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience after graduation. Candidates who have completed 30 months of experience as on 15th March 2016 are also eligible to apply, provided they fulfil the 3 years criteria by the date of joining the programme.
(**) Bachelor�s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 ( http://www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/alluniversity.pdf) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
Admission is based on educational qualification, work experience, performance in the EMAT entrance examination and personal interview. The admission would be a two-stage process. All eligible candidates would need to write the EMAT (Executive Management Aptitude Test). Candidates have to download the EMAT call letter from the IIMK website and bring a hardcopy to the examination centre. List of shortlisted candidates for personal interview will be displayed at the examination center notice board within three hours from the close of EMAT. List of selected candidates for admission to the programme will be published on the website .
The EMAT entrance examination is conducted to assess the basic logical, numerical and verbal ability of candidates for the two-year EPGP which are necessary for successful completion of the programme. The objective of the screening test is to ensure the required standard amongst candidates seeking admission to the EPGP programme. The test would assess the basic capabilities of the applicants in an objective manner. All applicants for the EPGP programme are required to take the test, which will be conducted at selected centers. The test will be designed and evaluated by IIMK.
The contents of the test will be similar to that of the Common Admission Test (CAT), administered by the IIMs for admissions to the PGP and FPM programmes. However, there will be questions on testing logical reasoning in addition to questions for testing numerical, data interpretation and verbal skills of the candidates. The test will be of one-hour duration consisting of three sections. The three separate sections are (i) Numerical ability & Data Interpretation (ii) Verbal Ability and (iii) Logical Reasoning. Each section will consist of twenty questions. Different questions may carry different weights and there may be negative marks for wrong answers.
The pedagogy followed will be a blend of experiential and participatory models like simulations, case studies, projects and traditional lecture methods.
The evaluation of academic performance in each course will be based on varying assessment criteria like assignments, quizzes, class participation, project work, end-term examination and any other component as suitably decided by the instructor.
Participants of the EPGP on their successful completion of the programme, shall be awarded the �Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management� (EPGDM) by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.
