The AKumen Programmes at IIM Kozhikode are short-term, residential courses crafted to deliver a comprehensive learning experience for students from other institutions—India and overseas—particularly those pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees. These programmes provide an intensive educational journey, offering participants valuable exposure to diverse cultural, academic, and professional environments.

AKumen Summer School Programmes offer international students a comprehensive learning experience through academic sessions, industrial visits, workshops, and seminars. In contrast, AKumen Immersion Programmes cater to students from Indian institutions, covering a wide range of business, finance, and management topics that blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills

AKumen is a suite of short-term, residential and online learning programmes offered by IIM Kozhikode, designed especially for national and international undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students. It aims to deliver high-impact learning experiences in management, business, finance, emerging technology, soft skills and more.

UG and PG students from Indian and overseas colleges and universities—especially those in management and related streams—are ideal candidates. Work experience is not mandatory for AKumen offerings.

AKumen is offered in the following formats:
  • On-Campus (Residential)
  • Hybrid (Online + On-Campus Immersion)
  • Synchronous Online (Live Online Sessions)
These formats vary in duration, delivery mode, and total learning hours.

Most AKumen offerings come in one-week and two-week options. Weekly learning hours and training components vary by mode (on-campus vs online vs hybrid).

  • On-Campus: Entirely residential with classroom sessions, activities, workshops, and immersive campus experience.
  • Hybrid: Combination of online training plus compulsory on-campus immersion at IIMK.
  • Synchronous (Live Online): Live interactive sessions delivered online over fixed schedules.

  • On-Campus: One week ≈ 30 hours; Two weeks ≈ 60 hours
  • Hybrid: One week ≈ 20 hours (mix of online + campus); Two weeks ≈ 40 hours
