As nations grow, their economies undergo a structural change: some sectors lose importance, others gain. Such structural transformation often accompanies long-term economic growth, marked by a progressive shift in the economic structure — from a high reliance on agriculture to increased industrial activity, and ultimately to the predominance of the services sector.
The RBI in its October monetary policy, raised its baseline growth projection from 6.5 per cent to 6.8 per cent. This was no surprise as Q1 GDP came at 7.8 per cent – a full 1.3 percentage points (ppt) higher than its projection. Even if it had retained its projections for the subsequent three quarters the full year projected growth would have been at 6.8 per cent.
Not long ago, I had a conversation with a CEO who, somewhere between checking his phone and adjusting his tie, declared: “I just don’t have time to pursue what I really want.” It was a very solemn moment. Almost moving. Had it not been for the fact that, during our 20-minute chat, he checked his phone 17 times. The Indian Institute of Management Jammu is privileged to host the 26th IIM Libraries Consortium Meet from September 24–26, 2025, at its Jagti campus in the Vedanta MDP Block. The three-day event, organized by the Nalanda Library of IIM Jammu, brings together librarians from 21 IIMs along with leading national and international publishers, vendors, and service providers. The IIM Libraries Consortium meet serves as a platform for sharing best practices, collaborative discussions, and presentations on innovative products and services. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.
We humans live in the shadow of secrets. We spend half our lives collecting secrets and the other half leaking them, even if accidentally. If Truth is supposed to set us free, then secrets are the locks we have the keys to—“Ah, no one knows what I know!” It is the ego’s favourite pastime.
